We had the pleasure of working with Tiffany and Amanda at Events Luxe on this Tuscan-inspired al fresco wedding at the World's Fair Pavilion in Forest Park over the summer. The guest count wasn't large since much of the bride's family still lives in Italy and couldn't make the trip, so we knew we hand plenty of room for a design that would have a large impact in the space, yet also lend an intimate feel to the reception. We achieved this by using a grid of pergolas to distinguish the dining area, adding fabric overhead to soften the look and chandeliers for an unexpected element. The resulting effect was an intimate, inviting dining area.
Since the entire pavilion was not needed for the guest count, we used draping to create a wall between the dance floor and extra space. Cafe lights were then hung between the draping and pergola to define the dance floor area and add to the Tuscan feel of the evening. Lounge seating connected the dance floor to our large circular bar, and created the perfect spot for those who didn't wish to dance to still be part of the action.
